Playing for Clubs
Julinho was born in São Paulo, Brazil. During his career from 1951 to 1967, he played for several big clubs. In Brazil, he played for Portuguesa, Fluminense, and Palmeiras.
He also played in Italy for Fiorentina. He was a very important player when Fiorentina won the Italian league title in the 1955–56 season. In 1957, he played in the 1957 European Cup Final, which is a big championship for European clubs. His team, Fiorentina, lost 2–0 to Real Madrid in that final.
Playing for Brazil
Julinho also had a great career playing for his country, Brazil. He played for Brazil in the 1954 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland, where he scored two goals.
He was also part of the Brazilian team that won the 1952 Panamerican Championship. He helped his team finish second in the 1953 South American Championship and the 1964 Taça das Nações. In total, Julinho played 24 games for Brazil between 1952 and 1965, scoring 11 goals.
