Julio Pazos Barrera was born in Baños, Ecuador, on August 18, 1944. He is a very talented Ecuadorian writer, known for his poetry and stories. He has also worked as a teacher and is even a cook!
Julio Pazos Barrera is the main editor for two important magazines: Letras del Ecuador (Letters from Ecuador) and América. Letras del Ecuador is published by the Ecuadorian House of Culture, which is a big organization that supports arts and culture in Ecuador.
