About Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
This movie takes the idea of a magical game to a whole new level. Instead of a board game, it's now a video game! Four teenagers get pulled into the dangerous world of Jumanji. They have to work together to survive and escape.
The Story of Jumanji
The movie starts in 1996. A young man finds the Jumanji board game. He doesn't want to play a board game. So, the game magically changes into a video game cartridge. He starts playing it and disappears.
Years later, in 2017, four high school students are in detention. Spencer, Fridge, Bethany, and Martha are very different. They find an old video game console with the Jumanji game. They decide to play it.
Inside the Game World
When they pick their characters, something amazing happens. They are sucked into the game! Each teen turns into the avatar they chose. But there's a twist! They don't get the bodies they expect.
- Spencer becomes Dr. Smolder Bravestone. He is a strong explorer played by Dwayne Johnson.
- Fridge becomes Franklin "Mouse" Finbar. He is a small zoologist played by Kevin Hart.
- Bethany becomes Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon. He is a cartographer played by Jack Black.
- Martha becomes Ruby Roundhouse. She is a tough fighter played by Karen Gillan.
They quickly learn the rules of the game. They have three lives each. If they lose all their lives, they will truly disappear. Their mission is to find a special jewel called the "Jaguar's Eye." They must return it to a giant jaguar statue. This will save Jumanji from a bad guy named Van Pelt. Only then can they return home.
Facing Challenges and Learning Lessons
The jungle world of Jumanji is full of dangers. They face wild animals, tricky puzzles, and dangerous traps. They also meet a pilot named Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough. He is another player who has been stuck in the game for a long time.
As they try to complete their mission, the teens learn important lessons. They have to use their unique strengths. They also learn to overcome their weaknesses. Spencer, who is shy, learns to be brave. Fridge, who is big, learns to appreciate his small size. Bethany, who is self-centered, learns to care about others.
