Jun Sonoda (薗田 淳, Sonoda Jun, born 23 January 1989 in Shizuoka, Shizuoka) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender and was known for his strong play. He last played for Blaublitz Akita.

Jun Sonoda's Football Journey

Jun Sonoda started his football career at a young age. He was born in Shizuoka, Shizuoka, Japan, on January 23, 1989. He grew up loving football and worked hard to become a professional player.

Early Career and Youth Teams

Before joining professional clubs, Jun Sonoda played for Tokoha University Tachibana High School from 2004 to 2006. This is where he developed his skills and got ready for the big leagues.

Playing for Kawasaki Frontale

Jun Sonoda joined Kawasaki Frontale, a well-known Japanese football club, in 2007. He played for them until 2013. During his time there, the team was very successful. They finished second in the J1 League in both 2008 and 2009. They also reached the finals of the J.League Cup in 2007 and 2009.

Loan to Machida Zelvia

In 2012, while still with Kawasaki Frontale, Jun Sonoda went on loan to Machida Zelvia. This meant he played for Machida Zelvia for a season to gain more experience. He played 21 games for them in the J2 League.

Moving to Other Clubs

After his time at Kawasaki Frontale, Jun Sonoda played for several other teams.

  • Consadole Sapporo: From 2014 to 2015, he played for Consadole Sapporo in the J2 League. He played 8 games for them.
  • Roasso Kumamoto: He then moved to Roasso Kumamoto and played there from 2016 to 2017. He scored one goal in 14 games for this team.
