Junnosuke Inoue (井上 準之助, Inoue Junnosuke, May 6, 1869 – February 9, 1932) was an important Japanese financial expert and government official. He lived during the Taisho and Showa eras in Japan. He served twice as the 9th and 11th Governor of the Bank of Japan (BOJ), which is like the country's main bank. He was also the Minister of Finance, managing Japan's money, in 1923-1924 and again from 1929-1931. Sadly, he was assassinated in 1932 during an event called the League of Blood Incident.

Early Life and Education

Junnosuke Inoue was born in Ōita Prefecture, a region in Japan. He studied at the Imperial University of Tokyo, a very famous university.

Career in Finance and Government

In 1896, Inoue started working at the Bank of Japan. A year later, in 1897, he was sent to London with another young trainee, Hisaakira Hijikata. Their job was to learn about how British banks worked.

From 1913 to 1919, Inoue led the Yokohama Specie Bank. This bank was important for Japan's international trade.

He became the Governor of the Bank of Japan two times. His first term was from March 13, 1919, to September 2, 1923. His second term was from May 10, 1927, to June 1, 1928.

Inoue also served as the Minister of Finance. He held this powerful position from 1923 to 1924 and again from 1929 to 1931. He was in charge of Japan's money and economy during these times. He also briefly led the Institute of Pacific Relations.

Later Life and Assassination

In 1932, Junnosuke Inoue was one of two important Japanese figures who were assassinated. This happened during an event known as the League of Blood Incident.
