Jurga Šeduikytė (born February 11, 1980, Klaipėda, Lithuania), known by her stage name Jurga, is a talented Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She also used to perform under the name Dingau.

About Jurga

Jurga grew up in a family of musicians. She was born in Klaipėda and spent her early childhood years in Telšiai. Later, she moved to Palanga, where she learned to play the piano at a local music school. She also finished high school there. After that, she studied journalism at Vilnius University.

In 2002, Jurga took part in a TV singing competition called Fizz Superstar. In the same year, she started performing with a girl-rock band named Muscat, using the stage name Dingau. She also acted in musicals like Ugnies medžioklė su varovais and Tadas Blinda in 2004.

Her solo career began in 2005 when she started using the name Jurga. Her first album, Aukso Pieva (which means "Meadow of Gold"), came out on September 16, 2005. A famous musician named Andrius Mamontovas helped produce it. The first song from the album, Nebijok (meaning "Don't Be Afraid"), was a huge hit. It stayed at number one on the music charts for eight weeks and was the biggest hit song in Lithuania in 2005.

Jurga wrote almost all twelve songs on her first album herself. They were in both Lithuanian and English. Soon after her album was released, Jurga won many awards in Lithuania.

Her second album, Instrukcija (meaning "Instruction"), was released on April 19, 2007. This album had thirteen songs that Jurga wrote while in Lithuania and New Zealand. To celebrate the album, Jurga went on a tour across Lithuania. She also visited Anaberg Castle in Germany.

In July 2007, her song "5th Season" won the top prize at the Baltic Song Festival in Karlshamn, Sweden. A few months later, on November 1, Jurga made history. She won the MTV European Music Award for Best Baltic Act. Jurga was the very first Lithuanian artist to win an MTV award!
