Justin Robert Carney (born June 19, 1988) is a former professional rugby league player from Australia. He played as a winger or a centre. Carney played for teams in Australia, including the Canberra Raiders and the Sydney Roosters. He also played in the United Kingdom for the Castleford Tigers, Salford Red Devils, and Hull Kingston Rovers.

Justin Carney's Rugby Career
Justin Carney had an exciting career playing rugby league for many years. He was known for his strong running and dynamic style on the field.
Playing for Canberra Raiders
Carney started his professional career with the Canberra Raiders. He scored two tries in his very first game in June 2008. This helped his team win against the Brisbane Broncos.
In July 2009, Justin Carney broke his leg during a game. This injury meant he could not play for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010. Even with his injury, he was recognized for his good work in the community. He was nominated for the 2009 Ken Stephen Medal.
Playing for Sydney Roosters
In July 2010, Carney joined the Sydney Roosters team. He played for them for two seasons. During his time there, he scored three tries in 17 games.
Playing for Castleford Tigers
Carney moved to the United Kingdom to play for the Castleford Tigers starting in the 2013 season. His coach, Ian Millward, believed Justin would be a favorite with the fans. He said Carney would run the ball harder and faster than anyone else in the Super League.
Justin Carney was a very successful player for Castleford. He scored 31 tries in 28 games. In April 2014, he signed a new contract to stay with the team until the end of 2019.
He played in the 2014 Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. However, his team lost that game to the Leeds Rhinos.
In August 2015, Carney was suspended by Castleford and did not play for the rest of that season. Overall, he scored 63 tries in 62 games for Castleford from 2013 to 2015.
Playing for Salford Red Devils
In November 2015, Carney joined the Salford Red Devils on a temporary loan. This deal became permanent in April 2016. He played for Salford until 2017. He left the club after facing disciplinary action.
Playing for Hull KR
After leaving Salford, Carney joined Hull Kingston Rovers for the rest of the 2018 season. He decided to retire from professional rugby league at the end of that season.
After retiring, Justin Carney returned to Australia. He became a player-coach for the Nyngan Tigers in 2019. In July 2023, it was reported that he faced a suspension while playing for his new club, Albury Thunder, where he is also a player-coach.
