Koji Morisaki (森﨑 浩司, Morisaki Kōji, born May 9, 1981) is a famous Japanese football player who used to play professionally. He was a midfielder known for his skills on the field. Koji has a twin brother, Kazuyuki Morisaki, who is also a football player.
Playing for Clubs
Koji Morisaki was born in Hiroshima, Japan, on May 9, 1981. He joined the youth team of Sanfrecce Hiroshima and then moved up to play for their main team in 2000.
From 2002, Koji played many games as an attacking midfielder. He and his twin brother, Kazuyuki, became very important players for the club. Koji played in many matches during the 2000s.
However, he faced some health challenges during his career. In 2005, he experienced a period of extreme mental and physical tiredness. Later, in 2009, he dealt with a condition that caused him to feel very tired for a long time.
In the 2010s, Koji's chances to play in games became fewer. But his team, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, had great success. They won the top Japanese football league, the J1 League, three times: in 2012, 2013, and 2015. Koji Morisaki retired from playing football at the end of the 2016 season.
Playing for Japan's National Team
Koji Morisaki also played for Japan's national youth teams. In June 2001, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. He played in two matches at the 2001 World Youth Championship.
Later, in August 2004, he was picked for the Japan U-23 national team. This team played in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Koji played in all three of their matches during that tournament.
