History

Kachka first opened its doors in 2014. It is owned by a husband and wife team, Israel and Bonnie Morales.

Bonnie Morales is also the main chef at Kachka. She grew up in Chicago, where her parents, who were from Belarus, ran their own restaurant in the 1990s.

In late 2019, the owners added a small grocery store and deli. It's called Kachka Lavka and is located right inside the restaurant. A year later, in 2020, they opened another restaurant. This sister spot is named Kachka Alfresca and serves comforting food inspired by the 1990s.
