Growing Up and Learning to Act
Kadiff Kirwan was born and grew up in Plymouth, Montserrat. His family had to move to Antigua after a big volcanic eruption from the Soufrière Hills volcano destroyed their home in 1995. After that, they moved to Preston, England.
It was in Preston that Kadiff discovered his love for acting. He first performed in a school play, Bugsy Malone, when he was 14 years old. Kadiff shared that school was tough for him, but his drama teacher encouraged him to join after-school drama classes. He found that acting helped him understand himself better and gave him a way to express his feelings. He said acting "saved" him and "gave me my voice."
Kadiff worked hard and later studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He graduated from there in 2011.
