Kaija Kokkola (born on September 10, 1962), known as Kaija Koo, is a famous Finnish singer. She has been making music for many years and is one of Finland's most successful artists.

Kaija Koo's Musical Journey
Kaija Koo started her music career when she was just 17 years old. She was part of a band called Steel City, which later changed its name to Kaija Koo Band. After some time, the band broke up, and Kaija Koo decided to become a solo artist.
Early Albums and Big Success
Her first solo album, Kun savukkeet on loppuneet, came out in 1986. But her really big moment came with her next album, Tuulten viemää, released in 1993. She created this album with her husband at the time, Markku Impiö. Tuulten viemää was a huge hit! It sold 175,000 copies, making it one of the best-selling albums ever in Finland.
Kaija Koo also had a small part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1981. She sang in the background choir for Frederik's song "Titanic" during the Finnish tryouts.

Since her big breakthrough, Kaija Koo has stayed very popular. She has released many new albums over the years. She has sold more than 540,000 certified records in total.
