Story of the Party
The book tells the story of Alfons Åberg's birthday party. His birthday was the day before, and now it's time for the big party on Saturday!
Party Preparations
Alfons's Aunt Fiffi helps him get everything ready. She doesn't have children of her own, so she's very excited. Alfons first wants to invite only his best friends, Viktor and Milla.
Aunt Fiffi thinks they should invite everyone from kindergarten. But Alfons's dad suggests a smaller party with about 8 to 10 children. They decide to invite the kids who live on the same street as Alfons.
Aunt Fiffi makes many lists. She goes shopping for party supplies and bakes delicious treats. Alfons helps her with all the preparations.
The Party Begins
On Saturday, the party starts! Most of the children wear their best clothes, looking very fancy. Alfons receives many exciting presents from his friends.
At the party table, there is a big, yummy cake. Each guest has a special name-card to show them where to sit. One guest, Lotta, doesn't want to sit next to Martin because he sometimes pinches. Aunt Fiffi quickly helps by changing the name-cards around.
Party Games and Fun
After eating, the children start playing games. During one game, Ubbe notices that Martin has something green in his candy bag. Aunt Fiffi explains that all the candy bags have the same amount of candy.
Later, they play a quiz game. Sara gets upset because her team didn't win. When they play hide-and-seek, some of the girls hide together in the toilet.
End of the Party
When the clock strikes six, it's time for the guests to leave. Alfons feels a bit tired but also happy that the party is over. Aunt Fiffi then starts cleaning up all the party mess.
Alfons's Own Party
The next day, Alfons decides to have his own special party. It's just him, Viktor, and Milla. They sit together under the table and eat the leftover cake. Alfons thanks Aunt Fiffi for all her help with the big party.
