Kamet is a very tall mountain in the Himalayas range. You can find it in India. It stands about 7,756 metres (25,446 ft) high. This makes it the 29th highest mountain in the whole world!

About Kamet Mountain

Kamet is part of the Zanskar Range, which is a section of the greater Himalayas. It is located in the Uttarakhand state of India. The mountain is known for its pyramid-like shape and two peaks. It is a challenging climb for mountaineers.

First People to Reach the Top

The first people to successfully climb to the top of Kamet were a team of four climbers. They reached the summit in 1931. These brave explorers were Frank Smythe, Eric Shipton, R.L. Holdsworth, and Lewa Sherpa. Their climb was a big achievement in mountain climbing history.

The 1931 Expedition

The team started their journey to the top in the summer of 1931. They faced many difficulties, like harsh weather and difficult terrain. Despite these challenges, they worked together to reach the summit. Their success showed how determined and skilled they were.
