Kamil Bednarek (born on May 10, 1991, in Brzeg, Poland) is a Polish singer, songwriter, and musician. He is famous for his reggae and dancehall music. Many people know him as the runner-up from the third season of the TV show Mam talent!.

From 2008 to 2012, Kamil was the main singer for the band Star Guard Muffin. With them, he released a studio album called Szanuj in 2010, which became the number one album in Poland. They also released two shorter albums called EPs. Since 2012, he has been the lead singer of his own band, called Bednarek. This band released their first album, Jestem..., in November 2012, and it also reached the number one spot.

Kamil Bednarek's Musical Journey

Starting with Star Guard Muffin

Kamil Bednarek started a band called Star Guard Muffin with his friends in 2008. Their first concert was opening for another Polish band, EastWest Rockers. A year later, Star Guard Muffin released their first short album, called Ziemia Obiecana (which means Promised Land).

In 2010, Kamil joined the TV show Mam talent!, which is like the Polish version of Got Talent. At his audition, he sang "I" by Kurt Nilsen and really impressed the judges. In the semi-final, he sang "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton and made it to the final. There, he sang "Is This Love" by Bob Marley and finished in second place.

Around the same time, on November 19, 2010, Star Guard Muffin released their first full album, Szanuj. Because Kamil was so popular from the TV show, the album quickly became number one on the Polish music charts called OLiS.

In April 2011, the band traveled to Jamaica. They recorded a short album called Jamaican Trip at the famous Tuff Gong studio in Kingston. Many guest musicians joined them on this album, including Dean Fraser and Earl "Chinna" Smith.

Forming the Bednarek Band

At the start of 2012, Kamil Bednarek took part in the second season of a TV show called Bitwa na głosy (which means Battle of the Voices). He coached a group of 16 singers from his hometown, Brzeg, and his team won the competition!

In February 2012, the bassist Kuba Wojciechowski decided to leave Star Guard Muffin, and the band took a break. Kamil Bednarek decided to keep playing music with keyboardist Radosław Szyszkowski and drummer Maciej Pilarz. They formed a new band called Bednarek. Guitarist Piotr Bielawski and bassist Piotr Stanclik joined them to complete the group.

The band's first studio album, Jestem..., was released on November 28, 2012. It immediately became the number one album on the OLiS chart and sold so many copies that it earned a "diamond" award.
