Kamil Sebastian Durczok (born March 6, 1968 – died November 16, 2021) was a well-known Polish journalist. He was the Editor-in-Chief and a presenter for the TVN news program Fakty TVN.

Kamil Durczok's Journalism Career

Kamil Durczok started his journey in journalism in 1991 at Radio Katowice. Before that, he helped start a student radio station called EGIDA at the University of Silesia in Katowice. When he was just 24, he became the director and editor-in-chief of a radio station in Katowice called TOP FM. This station was owned by Solidarity, a famous Polish trade union.

Early Television Work

In 1994, Kamil Durczok began working with Telewizja Katowice. He interviewed politicians on a show called Obserwatorium. He also appeared on national TV for the first time in a program called Studio Parlamentarne. After that, he became the presenter for the TVP3 Katowice news program, Aktualności, until 2002.

Between 2001 and 2006, he was the main presenter for Wiadomości. This was the public television's main news program. He also hosted election night shows on TVP1 for many years.

Radio and News Leadership

Kamil Durczok also worked in radio. From 2003 to 2005, he presented Salon polityczny Trójki on Polish Radio Channel 3. From 2005 to 2007, he hosted Kontrwywiad RMF FM on radio RMF FM.

In 2006, he became the Editor-in-Chief of TVN's main news program, Fakty TVN. He also started presenting Fakty po Faktach on TVN24 in 2008.

Later Projects

In 2016, Kamil Durczok started his own company called Coal Minders. This company launched an information website for the Upper Silesia region called Silesion.pl. The website was active until 2019. After the website closed, he taught people how to handle image crises.

He also worked with Polsat News starting in 2016. There, he hosted a program called Brutalna prawda, Durczok ujawnia. In 2017, the show's name changed to Durczokracja. His last show was in December 2017.

In his later years, Kamil Durczok was active on social media. He shared his thoughts on Polish politics. He also helped with social activities, like volunteering for the "Wolne Miejsce" foundation. This foundation helps organize Christmas Eve meals for people in need. In 2021, he launched a mobile app, also called Durczokracja, where he shared his content.

Kamil Durczok's Passing

Kamil Durczok passed away on November 16, 2021. He was 53 years old. His death was caused by a chronic illness that got worse. His funeral took place on November 19, 2021, at the cemetery of the Holy Trinity parish in Katowice-Kostuchna.
