Kanjanur is a small village located in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is part of the Thiruvidaimarudur taluk. This village sits on the northern side of the Kaveri River. It is about 18 kilometers (11 miles) north-east of a larger town called Kumbakonam.

The Agniswarar temple in Kanjanur is dedicated to Shukra. Shukra represents the planet Venus in Hindu mythology. This temple is one of the "Navagraha temples" in the Cauvery Delta. People visit these temples to pray to specific planets.
