Karim Hafez's Club Career
Starting in Belgium
Karim Hafez began his professional football journey in Belgium. He made his first appearance in a top-level league game on August 30, 2014. This was with the Belgian club Lierse S.K.. The match was against Waasland-Beveren, and Lierse lost 2–0.
A few weeks later, on September 20, 2014, Karim scored his first league goal. This happened in a game against K.V.C. Westerlo. Even though Lierse lost that match 6–1, Karim's goal was a highlight.
He continued to play well for Lierse's main team. He became one of their best players. Karim scored three goals in the Jupiler Pro League, which is Belgium's top football league. However, his excellent play could not prevent his club from being moved down to a lower league. This is called "relegation."
Playing for Egypt
Because of his strong performances, Karim was called to join the Egyptian national team. The team's manager, Héctor Cúper, selected him. Karim made his first appearance for Egypt in June. He came on as a substitute in a friendly match. Egypt won that game 2–1 against Malawi.
Moving to Other Clubs
After his time at Lierse, Karim Hafez played for several other clubs. He often joined these clubs on a temporary basis, which is called a "loan."
- He played for the French club RC Lens on loan from Lierse.
- On August 29, 2018, Karim was loaned by Wadi Degla to the Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir. This loan was for one season.
- Later, he also played for Kasımpaşa S.K. and Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey.
- In 2022, he joined Pyramids in Egypt.
