Karl Eusebius was an important Prince of Liechtenstein. He was born on April 11, 1611, and became the Prince in 1627 when he was just 16 years old. This happened after his father, Karl I, passed away. Because Karl Eusebius was so young, his uncles, Prince Gundakar and Maximillian, helped him rule as regents until 1632.
From 1639 to 1641, Karl Eusebius also served as the Chief Captain of High and Low Silesia, which are regions in what is now Poland and the Czech Republic.
After a big conflict called the Thirty Years' War, Karl Eusebius worked hard to help his lands recover. He was very good at managing money and helped his territories become strong again. Karl Eusebius was also a big supporter of art and buildings. He started the first plans for Plumlov Castle. His son, Hans-Adam I, later made sure the castle was built. Karl Eusebius died in Schwarzkosteletz on April 5, 1684.
