Karunamaya Goswami (born March 11, 1943 – died June 30, 2017) was a talented person from Bangladesh. He was a expert in music and also a writer. He studied music deeply and wrote many books.
In 2012, the Government of Bangladesh gave him a special award called the Ekushey Padak. This award is one of the highest honors in Bangladesh. He received it for his amazing work in researching music. He was especially well-known for his knowledge of "Nazrul Geeti," which are songs written by the famous poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
His Education
Karunamaya Goswami loved learning. He earned a special degree called a Ph.D. in 1987 from the University of Dhaka. His research was about how Kazi Nazrul Islam helped shape Bengali music. He explored Nazrul's songs and their importance in Bengali poetry and music.
