Kassidy Leigh Cook (born May 9, 1995) is an American diver. She is a member of the United States national diving team. Kassidy competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She placed 13th in the women's 3 meter springboard event. In the 2024 Summer Olympics, she won her first Olympic medal. She earned a silver medal in the women's synchronized 3 meter springboard with her partner, Sarah Bacon.

Early Life and Diving Start

Kassidy Cook was born on May 9, 1995. She is the fifth child of Kevin and Laura Cook. Her family lives in The Woodlands, Texas. Kassidy has five siblings: Kevin, Kara, Kelsey, Kylie, and Kendall.

Kassidy started diving when she was only four years old. Her older sister, Kara, was also a diver at Purdue University. Kassidy trains very hard, practicing five hours a day, six days a week. Before she became a diver, she was a child model.

Kassidy graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2013. Later, she went to Stanford University and graduated in 2018.

Junior Diving Achievements

Kassidy Cook was a very successful junior diver. She won many national championships. In 2007 and 2008, she won gold medals in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events at the Speedo National Junior Diving Championships. She also earned a silver medal in the 10-meter platform in 2008.

In 2009, Kassidy continued her success. She won gold medals again in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. She also took home a bronze medal in the 10-meter platform. In 2010, she won more gold medals at the USA Diving Junior National Championships. She was named the 2010 high school girls national champion in diving.

Olympic Journey

Kassidy Cook has represented the United States in the Olympic Games. She was very close to competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics. She missed qualifying by just 0.4 points, which is a tiny difference in diving!

However, she did compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics. There, she placed 13th in the women's 3-meter springboard event.

Kassidy and her best friend, Sarah Bacon, are diving partners. They qualified together for the 2024 Paris Olympics. They competed in the 3-meter synchronized springboard event.

On July 27, 2024, Kassidy Cook and Sarah Bacon made history. They won the first medals for the United States at the 2024 Olympics. They earned a silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized springboard event. This was Kassidy's first Olympic medal.
