Kassidy Leigh Cook (born May 9, 1995) is an American diver. She was part of the United States national diving team for many years. Kassidy competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she placed 13th in the women's 3-meter springboard event. She won her first Olympic medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She earned a silver medal in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard event with her partner, Sarah Bacon.

Early Life and Training

Kassidy Cook is the fifth child of Kevin and Laura Cook. She grew up in The Woodlands, Texas. Kassidy has five siblings: Kevin, Kara, Kelsey, Kylie, and Kendall.

How Kassidy Started Diving

Kassidy began diving when she was just four years old. Her older sister, Kara, was also a diver at Purdue University. Kassidy trained very hard, practicing five hours a day, six days a week. Before she became a diver, she was a child model.

School and College

Kassidy graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2013. She then went on to study at Stanford University, finishing her degree in 2018. She is also good friends with British diver Tom Daley.

Diving Career Highlights

Kassidy Cook has achieved many great things in her diving career. She has won several national and international competitions.

Junior National Success

Kassidy started winning big at a young age. In 2007 and 2008, she won gold medals in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events at the Speedo Junior National Diving Championships. In 2008, she also won a silver medal in the 10-meter platform event. She continued her success in 2009, winning more gold medals in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events.

International Competitions

In 2010, Kassidy won gold medals in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events at the FINA Junior World Championships. This showed she was one of the best young divers in the world. She also won a bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in synchronized 3-meter springboard.

Olympic Journey

Kassidy Cook has represented the United States at the Olympic Games. It's a huge honor for any athlete to compete at this level.

2016 Summer Olympics

Kassidy competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She placed 13th in the 3-meter springboard event. This was a valuable experience for her on the world's biggest stage.

2024 Paris Olympics

Kassidy Cook and her best friend, Sarah Bacon, teamed up for the 2024 Paris Olympics. They qualified for the 3-meter synchronized springboard event. On July 27, 2024, they made history by winning the first medals for the United States at the Paris Olympics. They earned a silver medal in their event, which was a fantastic achievement!
