About Kate Gordon
Kate Gordon was born in 1982 in Tasmania, Australia. She loved learning and studied different subjects at university. These included Performing Arts and Information Management. She also studied Literary Studies.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Kate worked with books. She was a librarian and a bookseller. She especially enjoyed working with books for children and young adults. This experience helped her understand what young readers like.
Her First Books
In 2010, Kate's first novel came out. It was called Three Things About Daisy Blue. This book was part of a popular series.
Her second novel, Thyla, was published in 2011. This book is a bit different. It's a paranormal story set in Hobart, Tasmania. Kate got the idea for Thyla from a real place. She visited the Cascades Female Factory, a historical site. She also got inspiration from a story her dad wrote for her. It was about a thylacine (a Tasmanian tiger) named Tessa.
The story of Thyla continued in a sequel. This next book was called Vulpi. It was released in April 2012.
Kate's next novel, Writing Clementine, came out in June 2014. She continues to write stories that capture the imagination of young readers.
