Early Life and Education
Kate Newmann was born in 1965. Her hometown is Dromore, in County Down, Ireland. Her mother is Joan Newmann. Kate went to King's College, Cambridge in England. There, she studied English and earned a master's degree.
Her Work and Summer Palace Press
After her studies, Kate worked at the Institute for Irish Studies. This institute is part of Queen's University Belfast. While working there, she helped put together The Dictionary of Ulster Biography. This book shares information about important people from Ulster.
In 1999, Kate and her mother, Joan, started Summer Palace Press. It is a small publishing company. They use it to publish poetry books. Kate Newmann now lives in Kilcar, a town near Killybegs, in Donegal.
