Kathryn Cave was born in 1948 in Aldershot, England. She is a British author known for writing books for children. One of her most famous books is Something Else.

This book was so special that it won the very first international UNESCO prize. This award, called Children's and Young People's Literature in the Service of Tolerance, celebrates books that teach about being accepting and understanding of others. Something Else was even turned into a TV cartoon series and a play for the stage!

Kathryn Cave has three children, Eleanor, Joseph, and Alice, and six grandchildren. Before becoming a full-time author, she worked as an editor for big publishing companies like Penguin. Today, she writes books for Frances Lincoln, a publishing house in North London, where she also lives in Hampstead.
