Kathryn Aselton (born October 1, 1978) is an American actress, film director, and producer. She is known for her roles in TV shows like The League and Legion. She has also directed movies such as The Freebie and Black Rock.

Early Life and Pageants
Katie Aselton was born in Milbridge, Maine. When she was a teenager, she took part in beauty pageants. In 1995, she was crowned Miss Maine Teen USA. She also placed as the first runner-up in the national Miss Teen USA 1995 competition.
She finished high school at Narraguagus High School in Harrington, Maine, in 1996. After that, she studied at Boston University for two years. Later, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She also spent two years studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Acting and Directing Career
Katie Aselton began her career in short films. In 2004, she appeared in Scrapple. Her first full-length movie was The Puffy Chair in 2005. She starred in this film alongside Mark Duplass, who she later married.
From 2009 to 2015, Katie was a main cast member in the popular FX sitcom The League. She played the character of Jenny. She also had a big role in the first two seasons of the FX drama Legion, which is based on Marvel Comics' X-Men.
Besides acting, Katie is also a director. She directed and starred in the movie The Freebie, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. She also directed the thriller film Black Rock in 2012.
In recent years, she has appeared in several other TV shows. These include Togetherness (2016), Casual (2016), and Curb Your Enthusiasm (2017). She also acted in movies like Fun Mom Dinner (2017) and Book Club (2018).
Personal Life
Katie Aselton is married to actor and filmmaker Mark Duplass. They met when she moved to Los Angeles to act. Mark Duplass was also her co-star in the TV show The League. They have two daughters together, born in 2007 and 2012.
