Katie Blair is an American model and beauty pageant winner. In 2006, she won the title of Miss Teen USA 2006. This was a huge moment because she was the first person from Montana to ever win a major pageant.
Later, in 2011, she became Miss California USA. She was first the runner-up, which is like second place. But when the winner, Alyssa Campanella, won the national Miss USA 2011 pageant, Katie stepped up to take the California title.

Winning Pageant Titles
A beauty pageant is a competition where people are judged on things like their talent, personality, and confidence. Winners often receive prizes like scholarships and modeling jobs.
Miss Teen USA 2006
Katie represented her home state of Montana at the Miss Teen USA 2006 pageant. The event took place in Palm Springs, California, on August 15, 2006. She won the crown, making history for Montana. Before Katie, no one from Montana had ever even made it to the semi-finals.
The evening gown she wore was designed by Gaspar Cruz, a famous designer who also created dresses for other pageant winners.
A Year as Miss Teen USA
Winning Miss Teen USA came with amazing prizes. Katie received a one-year modeling contract and a scholarship to a film and television school in New York City. She also got to be a guest star on the TV show Passions.
For her year as the titleholder, Katie moved to New York City. She lived in an apartment with the winners of Miss Universe and Miss USA 2006, Tara Conner. During this time, she used her title to help raise money for charities.
After her win, Katie returned to her hometown of Billings, Montana, for a celebration. The city council even named a day "Katie Blair Day" in her honor and gave her a key to the city, which is a special award.
During her reign, some of her choices led to a disagreement with a charity group, and they decided to stop working together. On August 24, 2007, her year as Miss Teen USA ended, and she passed the crown to the next winner, Hilary Cruz from Colorado.
Miss California USA 2011
A few years later, Katie competed in the Miss California USA 2011 pageant. She was the first runner-up. The winner was Alyssa Campanella, who had also been a teen pageant winner.
On June 25, 2011, something exciting happened. Alyssa Campanella won the national Miss USA 2011 title. Since she had a new role, she couldn't continue as Miss California USA. So, Katie, as the first runner-up, was given the title and became the new Miss California USA 2011.
Before the Crown
Before she became a famous pageant winner, Katie lived in Sugar Land, Texas. She later moved to Montana and graduated from Billings West High School in 2006.
She had plans to go to Louisiana State University. However, she decided to wait a year to focus on her duties as Miss Teen USA.
