Katsuyuki Miyazawa's Football Journey
Katsuyuki Miyazawa was born in Narashino, Japan, on September 15, 1976. After finishing university, he joined the J1 League team Urawa Reds in 1999. He played as a forward and an attacking midfielder. However, he did not get to play in many games for the team.
In 2002, Miyazawa moved to Albirex Niigata, a team in the J2 League. Here, he became a regular player. He often played as a defensive or attacking midfielder. His team, Albirex Niigata, won the J2 League championship in 2003. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League for the 2004 season.
Moving to Montedio Yamagata
When Albirex Niigata moved to J1, Miyazawa's playing time became less. In July 2004, he went on loan to Montedio Yamagata, another J2 League team. He quickly became a key player there, usually playing as a left midfielder.
In 2005, he returned to Albirex Niigata. But he still found it hard to get into games. So, in September 2006, he moved back to Montedio Yamagata. He once again became a regular player for them, playing many matches over several years.
Promotions and Retirement
Montedio Yamagata was also promoted to the J1 League in 2009. Miyazawa continued to play a big role for the team in the top league. In 2011, Montedio Yamagata finished last in the J1 League. This meant they were moved back down to the J2 League for the 2012 season.
In 2012, Miyazawa's chances to play decreased again. He decided to retire from football at the end of the 2012 season. Throughout his career, he played a total of 310 league games and scored 28 goals.
