Katsuyuki Miyazawa (宮沢 克行, Miyazawa Katsuyuki, born September 15, 1976) is a former professional Japanese football player. He was born on September 15, 1976, in Narashino, Japan. Miyazawa mainly played as a Midfielder during his career.

Katsuyuki Miyazawa's Football Journey

Katsuyuki Miyazawa started his football journey after finishing university. In 1999, he joined Urawa Reds, a team in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. During his time there, he played as a forward and an attacking midfielder. However, he did not get to play in many matches.

In 2002, Miyazawa moved to Albirex Niigata, a club in the J2 League (Japan's second division). Here, he became a key player, often playing as a defensive or attacking midfielder. His team, Albirex Niigata, performed very well. They won the J2 League championship in 2003. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League for the 2004 season.

After the promotion, Miyazawa's playing time at Albirex Niigata became less frequent. So, in July 2004, he went on loan to another J2 club, Montedio Yamagata. At Montedio Yamagata, he quickly became a regular player, often playing as a left midfielder.

Miyazawa returned to Albirex Niigata in 2005, but he still found it hard to get playing time. In September 2006, he made another move back to Montedio Yamagata. This time, he stayed for a long period and was a regular player again, mostly as a left midfielder. Montedio Yamagata also had success during this period. They were promoted to the J1 League in 2009.

In 2011, Montedio Yamagata finished last in the J1 League. This meant they were moved down to the J2 League for the 2012 season. Miyazawa's opportunities to play also decreased in 2012. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2012 season.

Career Highlights

Throughout his career, Katsuyuki Miyazawa played for several important Japanese football clubs. He was known for his versatility in midfield. He played a total of 310 league matches and scored 28 goals. His career spanned from 1999 to 2012.
