Kayla Grey, born on January 2, 1993, is a well-known Canadian TV host. She works as an anchor for SportsCentre on TSN. She is famous for being the first Black woman to host a main sports highlight show in Canada.

Kayla Grey's Journey in Broadcasting
Kayla Grey studied at Toronto's College of Sports Media. She started her career in Winnipeg, working as a journalist for Global News. Later, she moved to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, to be a senior reporter for CFTK-TV.
In 2015, Kayla joined TSN. She first worked as an on-air update anchor and radio producer. By 2017, she became an anchor and reporter for TSN. On January 19, 2018, Kayla made history. She became the first Black woman to host SportsCentre, a major sports highlight show in Canada.
Her Work with Sports Teams
Kayla often appears on TSN Radio in Toronto and Hamilton. She covers the Toronto Raptors basketball team. She also gives sports updates to CTV’s Your Morning show. In 2019, Kayla reported on the Toronto Raptors. This was when they won their historic NBA championship.
Hosting and Awards
Kayla also joined CTV's popular show The Amazing Race Canada 7. She was an official race correspondent for Etalk. She also hosted The Amazing Race Canada: The Ride Along. Kayla hosted and co-produced her own show, The Shift With Kayla Grey.
In 2020, Chatelaine magazine named her Woman of the Year. Refinery 29 also called her a Powerhouse Woman. In 2022, Kayla received a special award. The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television gave her the first-ever Changemaker Award. She shared this award with Kathleen Newman-Bremang and Amanda Parris.
Kayla Grey's Personal Life
Kayla Grey grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She went to Don Mills Collegiate in North York, Ontario. Kayla has a son named Levi.
