Kee Marcello's Music Journey

Kee Marcello has played in many bands over the years. Before joining famous groups, he was part of bands like Stetson Cody Group and Norbom Hilke. In 1982, he started the band Easy Action.

Early Success with Easy Action

Easy Action released two albums: Easy Action and That Makes One. They were the first band from Scandinavia to sign a major record deal with a US label, Sire Records, in 1983. This was a big achievement for them!

Later, the singer Zinny J. Zan left the band. Tommy Nilsson took his place. They released That Makes One in 1986. Just a few months later, in November 1986, Kee Marcello left Easy Action.

Joining Europe: A New Chapter

Kee Marcello joined the band Europe, replacing their original guitarist John Norum. Before joining Europe, Kee Marcello had already worked with Europe's singer, Joey Tempest. They collaborated on a successful song called "Give a Helpin' Hand" for a charity project. This song became Joey Tempest's first big hit.

This successful teamwork likely led to Kee Marcello being asked to join Europe. When he joined in 1986, Europe was not widely known outside Sweden. However, that was about to change in a big way!

The Final Countdown Era

The song "The Final Countdown" became a massive hit. It reached number one on the music charts in 25 countries! In 1987, Europe started their first world tour, called "The Final Countdown World Tour." This tour took them all around the globe.

Recording with Europe

In 1988, Kee Marcello recorded his first album with Europe, called Out of This World. They recorded it in London. After the album came out, they went on the "Out of This World Tour." This tour included shows in the US with Def Leppard.

The band then worked on their next album, Prisoners in Paradise. It was released in 1991. After this album, they went on the "Prisoners in Paradise World Tour." In 1992, after the tour, the band decided to take a break.

Solo Career and Other Projects

After Europe went on hiatus, Kee Marcello continued making music. In 1993, he joined a band called Red Fun with Easy Action's drummer, Freddie Von Gerber. They released one album, Red Fun, which had a melodic metal sound with blues influences.

In 1995, Kee Marcello started his solo career. He released his first solo album, Shine On. This album was different from his previous work, focusing more on a singer-songwriter style.

Producing and Collaborating

From 1997 to 2001, Kee Marcello worked in his own studio in Sweden. He produced and wrote songs for many different artists. He helped Canadian band The Moffats with their number one hit "Bang Bang Boom." He also contributed to albums for famous artists like Percy Sledge and Pandora.

Kee Marcello also made guest appearances as a guitar player. For example, he played a guitar solo on the 1999 In Flames album Colony.

Kee Marcello's K2 and Europe Reunion

In 2003, Kee Marcello released an album called Melon Demon Divine under the band name Kee Marcello's K2. This was a power trio with Ken Sandin on bass and Snowy Shaw on drums. The band toured a lot over the years.

Later in 2003, Europe reunited with their original guitarist, John Norum. Kee Marcello decided not to join this reunion. He explained that he wanted to explore different musical styles. He was happy that Europe reformed and continued to play for their fans.

Recent Activities

Easy Action reunited for a show at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2006. They also re-released their first album with some unreleased live songs. Kee Marcello's K2 toured extensively in Europe and the East from 2008 to 2009. They even performed in the 2007 Swedish Eurovision song contest.

Kee Marcello has continued to release solo albums. His album Redux: Europe came out in 2011. It featured new songs and re-recorded versions of his songs from Europe and Easy Action. His album Judas Kiss was released in 2013.

In 2016, he signed with an Italian record label and released his album "Scaling Up." He also starred in the Swedish musical Rock Of Ages, playing himself! Since 2015, he has been part of "Rock Of 80's" shows, which have been very popular.

Kee of Hearts

In 2017, Kee Marcello formed a new band project called Kee of Hearts. He teamed up with Tommy Heart, the singer of Fair Warning. They released their self-titled album, Kee of Hearts, on September 15, 2017.

Kee Marcello is still active in music and continues to tour with the Kee Marcello Band.
