High School Success

Keenan went to George Washington Carver High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a top athlete there. He won the Alabama State Championships twice in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races. He also won once in the triple jump.

During his senior year, he set a state record in the 100-meter dash. His time was an impressive 10.37 seconds. Before his senior year, he competed internationally. He earned a bronze medal in the 200-meter race. He also helped the American team win a gold medal in the Medley Relay. This was at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics in Brixen, Italy.

College and International Races

After high school, Keenan went to the University of Auburn. He continued his running career there. He represented the USA at the 2011 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. At this event, he won a silver medal in the 100-meter race. He was also part of the American team that won a gold medal in the 4x100 metres relay.

The next year, he again joined the American team. This time it was for the 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics. He achieved the same results, taking silver in the 100-meter race. He also helped anchor (run the final leg of) the 4x100-meter relay team. In 2012, he set his personal best time in the 100-meter dash, running it in 10.09 seconds. This fast time allowed him to compete in the 2012 United States Olympic Trials.
