Keiji Kaimoto (海本 慶治, Kaimoto Keiji, born November 26, 1972) is a former professional Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Keiji Kaimoto was also a member of the Japan national team. His younger brother, Kojiro Kaimoto, also played professional football.

Keiji Kaimoto's Club Career
Keiji Kaimoto was born in Suita, Japan, on November 26, 1972. After finishing university, he joined the football club Vissel Kobe in 1995. At that time, Vissel Kobe was part of the Japan Football League.
In 1996, Vissel Kobe finished second in their league. This success meant the team was promoted to the J1 League, which is Japan's top professional football league. Keiji Kaimoto played many games for Vissel Kobe in 1997.
In 2001, Keiji Kaimoto moved to another team called Nagoya Grampus Eight. His younger brother, Kojiro Kaimoto, joined him at Grampus in 2003. However, Keiji's time on the field slowly became less.
In 2005, Keiji and Kojiro both moved to Albirex Niigata. Keiji played often for Albirex Niigata. But Kojiro left the club in May 2006. Keiji Kaimoto played less in 2007. He decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 2008 season.
Keiji Kaimoto's National Team Career
Keiji Kaimoto played one game for the Japan national team. This special game was during the 2000 AFC Asian Cup tournament. He played against the Qatar team. The match took place in Beirut on October 20, 2000.
Keiji Kaimoto was substituted out of the game in the 39th minute. Even though he left the game early, the Japan national team continued to play well. They went on to win the entire 2000 AFC Asian Cup tournament. This was a big achievement for the team.
