Keli Goff (born July 20, 1979) is an American writer, producer, and journalist. She has worked on many popular TV shows. She also writes for different news websites.
In 2023, Keli Goff started writing a column for The Hollywood Reporter. In this column, she interviews important political leaders about Hollywood. She was also a regular guest host for the public radio show Left, Right & Center.

Early Life and Education
Keli Goff grew up in Missouri City, Texas. She went to Elkins High School. After high school, she earned a bachelor's degree from New York University. She also got a master's degree in strategic communications from Columbia University.
Starting as a Journalist and Author
Keli Goff became well-known after her first book was published. The book was called Party Crashing: How the Hip-Hop Generation Declared Political Independence. It looked at how younger voters influenced politics, especially in the 2008 election. Her book included interviews with young Black voters and leaders like Colin Powell.
Because of her book, Goff often appeared on TV news channels like MSNBC and CNN. She also covered big election events for BET.
Goff started writing for The Huffington Post. She then became a regular writer for other news sites. These included The Root, The Washington Post blog, and The Daily Beast. Her articles also appeared in magazines like Time, Essence, and Cosmopolitan.
In 2009, her essay "Living the Dream" was part of a book called The Speech: Race and Barack Obama's A More Perfect Union.
In 2011, her first novel, The GQ Candidate, was published. It was about a group of friends and one of them deciding to run for president.
Moving to Plays, Screenplays, and Producing
In 2013, Keli Goff began working on a documentary film. She interviewed people with different views on reproductive policy in America. This film became Reversing Roe. It was released on Netflix in September 2018. In 2019, Goff and the film's directors were nominated for two Emmy Awards for their work.
In 2014, Goff was chosen for The Public Theater’s Emerging Writers Group. Her play, written for this group, was read at different theaters. She also had plays developed at Crossroads Theater and LAByrinth Theater Company.
Also in 2014, she started working as a writer for the TV show Being Mary Jane. This show was about a Black female news anchor. Goff won a 2016 NAACP Image Award for her writing on this series.
In 2017, Goff began writing for The CW TV series Black Lightning. This show is based on a DC Comics superhero.
In 2019, she worked as a writer and producer for the TV series Twenties. This show was produced by Emmy winner Lena Waithe.
Recent Work
In 2016, Keli Goff hosted Political Party. This was a series of specials for NPR affiliate WNYC, covering the 2016 election.
From 2019 to 2021, Goff's articles appeared in many publications. These included The Guardian, Vogue, The Hollywood Reporter, and The Nation.
In 2020, Goff was a writer and producer for Joe vs. Carole. This miniseries was inspired by The Tiger King and starred Kate McKinnon.
In 2021, Center Stage in Baltimore presented Goff's play. It was called The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks & Curls. This play was a collection of scenes about Black women and their hair.
Also in 2021, Goff was announced as a writer and producer for And Just Like That.... This is a new version of the TV series ... and the City. Goff also worked as a co-executive producer on the second season of the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown.
In early 2023, she was an artist-in-residence at Yaddo.
In 2024, the fashion brand Anne Klein hired Goff. She helped write an important campaign starring supermodel Kate Upton.
