Kelleys Island State Park is a cool public park located on Kelleys Island, an island in Lake Erie. This park is about 13 miles northeast of Port Clinton, Ohio, in the United States. It covers about one-quarter of Kelleys Island. The park was opened in 1956.

Kelleys Island State Park is a great place for outdoor fun. It covers about 677 acres of land. You can find many things to do here.
What to Do at the Park
The park has lots of activities for visitors:
- Hiking Trails: There are about 6 miles of trails. These paths let you explore the island's nature.
- Sandy Beach: The park has a nice sand beach. It's perfect for swimming and relaxing by the lake.
- Campground: You can also stay overnight at the park's campground. It's a fun way to experience the island.
- Historic Sites: You can see old ruins from when people used to mine for lime. These include old lime kilns and quarry areas.
Amazing Glacial Grooves
The park works with other groups to protect special natural areas. One of these is the Glacial Grooves State Memorial.
- What are they? These are very rare, deep grooves in the rock.
- How they formed: They were carved by huge glaciers. These giant sheets of ice moved across the land thousands of years ago. They left behind these amazing marks.
Unique Habitats
Kelleys Island State Park is home to some very special natural places.
- North Shore Alvar State Natural Area: This area has a rare type of habitat called an alvar. An alvar is a flat, open area with thin soil over limestone rock. Special plants and animals live here.
- North Pond State Nature Preserve: This preserve protects a lake embayment. An embayment is a part of the lake that curves inward. It is usually separated from the main lake by a sand bar. This area is important for wildlife.
