Kelly Oxford's Creative Journey

Kelly Oxford left Mount Royal University after one semester in 1996. She began writing online, which is called blogging. This was a way for her to write every day and share her thoughts. Later, she worked as a waitress and in a shoe store.

In 2001, Kelly became a full-time stay-at-home mom. She started focusing on an anonymous blog. In 2009, she joined Twitter and quickly gained many followers. Famous people like Diablo Cody and Roger Ebert noticed her. Soon, agents contacted her.

She sold a TV script to CBS, which was based on her life as a mother in Calgary. Actress Jessica Alba was set to help produce it. Kelly then wrote another TV show idea that NBC bought. However, neither of these shows were made. In 2012, Kelly Oxford moved to Los Angeles.

In 2016, Kelly and Molly McNearney, who is the head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, created a comedy show for TV Land. This show was also based on Kelly's life, but it did not air.

On April 18, 2017, Kelly Oxford released her second book. It was called When You Find Out the World is Against You: And Other Funny Memories About Awful Moments. When she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her book, she shared a fun story.
