Kelly Rutherford (born November 6, 1968) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles on popular TV shows. These include Stephanie "Sam" Whitmore on Generations (1989–1991). She also played Megan Lewis on Melrose Place (1996–1999). Many people know her as Lily van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl (2007–2012).

Kelly Rutherford was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, on November 6, 1968. Her mother is Ann Edwards. Kelly also has a brother named Anthony.
She went to Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California. After high school, she studied acting. She attended HB Studio in New York City. She also studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in California.
Acting Career Highlights
Kelly Rutherford started her acting journey on daytime soap operas. She appeared on Loving in 1987. From 1989 to 1991, she was a regular on Generations. In 1992, she joined the cast of the ABC drama Homefront.
From 1993 to 1994, Kelly was in the Fox series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.. She played Dixie Cousins, a saloon singer. Dixie was a clever character who became a love interest for Brisco.
Kelly also acted in the movie I Love Trouble. She starred in other TV series too. These included The Great Defender (1995) and Kindred: The Embraced (1996). In 1996, she joined the popular show Melrose Place. She played Megan Lewis until 1999.
She also appeared in the horror film Scream 3 (2000). From 2003 to 2004, she was Special Agent Frankie Ellroy Kilmer in Threat Matrix. In 2007, Kelly began her role as Lily van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. This show was very popular and ended in 2012.
Kelly has also been in many movies for the Lifetime channel. In 2016, she played Laura Wyatt in the ABC thriller Quantico. From 2018 to 2019, she had a recurring role. She played Melissa Daniels in the CW series Dynasty.
Personal Life and Family
Kelly Rutherford has been married twice. She married Carlos Tarajano in June 2001. They divorced in January 2002.
She married Daniel Giersch in August 2006. They welcomed their son, Hermès Gustaf Daniel Giersch, in October 2006. Kelly gave birth to their daughter, Helena Grace, in June 2009. Kelly and Daniel later divorced.
Kelly has two children, a son and a daughter. She has worked hard to balance her acting career with being a mom.
