Kenchi's Life Story
Kenchi was born in Yokohama, Japan, and grew up in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. This was on September 28, 1979.
When he was younger, he became a very active dancer. In his early 20s, he joined several dance teams like Poly-3, Fulcrum, and Red Blockerz. Around the same time, he also started working for LDH's clothing division.
In 2007, Kenchi was chosen to be a member of the group Nidaime J Soul Brothers. They released one album and then announced they would take a break in 2009. Soon after, all the members of Nidaime J Soul Brothers joined the famous group Exile.
In July 2012, Kenchi became part of a special Exile group called Exile The Second. He joined his friends and former Nidaime J Soul Brothers members: Nesmith, Shokichi, Keiji, and Tetsuya. On December 4, 2015, Kenchi was announced as the leader of Exile The Second.
In 2017, Kenchi started getting involved in the world of books. He became an ambassador for the 2nd Short Shorts Award. He also started his own blog called Tachibana Bookstore. On this blog, he regularly shares and talks about the books he has read.
Kenchi also showed interest in the Sake business. Sake is a traditional Japanese alcoholic drink. In 2019, he said he wanted to work with Sake for a long time. On September 8 of that year, Kenchi opened his first Izakaya (a type of Japanese bar or restaurant) in Tokyo. It's called LDH Kitchen IZAKAYA AOBADAI. This Izakaya plans to work with local Sake breweries and host daily events about Sake and Japanese culture.
In 2023, Kenchi performed in his first stage musical. He played the role of Miguel da Corella in CESARE ~ Creator of Destruction ~.
Kenchi's Personal Life
Kenchi became friends with other Exile members like Akira, Tetsuya, and Keiji in the early 2000s. This was long before they all joined LDH as artists.
On October 1, 2019, Kenchi shared that he had married a woman in her 30s who is not famous. They met through mutual friends and had been dating for three years. This made him the eighth member of Exile to get married.
