Kendrick James Farris, born on July 2, 1986, is a talented weightlifter from the United States. He is known for representing his country in major international competitions, including the Olympic Games.
Kendrick competed for the United States in the 85 kilogram (kg) weight class at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He finished in 8th place. He also took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he placed 10th.

On May 8, 2016, Kendrick Farris set a new U.S. record during the Olympic trials. He lifted a total of 377 kilograms (831 pounds). This amazing lift included 168 kg (370 pounds) in the snatch and 209 kg (461 pounds) in the clean and jerk.
The snatch and clean and jerk are two different types of lifts in weightlifting. In the snatch, the weight is lifted from the floor to overhead in one smooth motion. In the clean and jerk, the weight is lifted to the shoulders first (the "clean"), and then pushed overhead (the "jerk").
2016 Olympic Performance
At the 2016 Olympic Games, Kendrick Farris competed in the 94 kg weight class. He finished in 11th place. His lifts included a 160 kg snatch and a 197 kg clean and jerk.
