Kenichi Sugano (菅野 賢一, Sugano Kenichi, born August 8, 1971) is a former Japanese football player. He was born on August 8, 1971, in Mie Prefecture, Japan. He played as a defender and sometimes as a forward during his career.

Kenichi Sugano's Football Journey
Kenichi Sugano began his football journey after finishing university at Chuo University.
Starting His Professional Career
In 1994, he joined a team called Kashiwa Reysol. He played many games for them over three seasons. Kenichi often played as a forward and scored six goals for the team.
Moving to New Teams
In 1997, Kenichi moved to Kawasaki Frontale. He didn't play as much there. Then, in 2000, he joined Mito HollyHock. This club had just been promoted to a higher league called J2 League. At Mito HollyHock, Kenichi played many matches as a left-sided player, either as a defender or in midfield.
Playing in Lower Leagues
In October 2001, he moved to a club called Gunma FC Fortona. This team was in a lower league. The club later changed its name to Gunma FC Horikoshi. They worked hard and were promoted to even higher leagues in 2003 and 2004. Kenichi Sugano retired from playing football at the end of the 2004 season.
