Kenneth was a small community that no longer exists. It was located in Jefferson Township, which is part of Cass County in the state of Indiana. Even though it's not a town anymore, its history is still part of the area.
A Brief History of Kenneth
Kenneth started out as a "whistle stop" along a railroad line. Imagine a train track where trains would only stop if someone was waiting to get on or if a passenger needed to get off. That's what a whistle stop was! It wasn't a big station, just a simple place for trains to pause.
A post office was opened in Kenneth in 1892. This means people living there could send and receive mail right in their own community. The post office served the area for many years. However, it closed down in 1929. After the post office closed, the community slowly faded away.
