Standing between 7 feet 7 inches and 7 feet 9 inches tall, he was the tallest basketball player in the United States when he played for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. Growing Up Tall
Kenny George grew up in Chicago, Illinois. When he was 15 years old, he had a medical condition that made him grow very quickly. By the time he was in his second year of high school at Latin School of Chicago, he was already 6 feet 11 inches tall!
College Basketball Career
Kenny George played college basketball for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. He played for them from 2006 to 2008.
During his time there, he became a very important player. In 2008, he was named the Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Year. This award means he was the best at stopping the other team from scoring. He also earned a spot on the second-team all-Big South, which means he was one of the top players in the conference.
Life After Basketball
In October 2008, Kenny George had to have surgery on his right foot because of an infection. This surgery meant he could no longer play basketball professionally.
