Kensaku Abe (阿部 謙作, Kensaku Abe, born May 13, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented goalkeeper who played for several clubs in Japan. Abe spent many years protecting the goal for his teams in the J.League, Japan's professional football league.

Kensaku Abe was born on May 13, 1980, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He started his football journey in high school, playing for Tokai University Daiichi High School from 1996 to 1998. After high school, he continued to play football while attending the University of Tsukuba from 1999 to 2002. His dedication and skill as a goalkeeper helped him prepare for a professional career.
Professional Club Career
Abe began his professional football career in 2003 with Ventforet Kofu. This team played in the J2 League, which is the second division of Japan's professional football league. He quickly became an important player for the team, known for his strong saves and leadership on the field.
Time at Ventforet Kofu
Kensaku Abe played a significant number of games for Ventforet Kofu. In his first two years, 2003 and 2004, he played 30 and 39 league games respectively. He was a consistent presence in goal, helping his team compete in the J2 League.
Loan to Vissel Kobe
In 2005, Abe had a short loan spell with Vissel Kobe, a team in the top division, the J1 League. Although he didn't play any league games for Vissel Kobe, he gained experience in a higher league environment. He also played one game in the J.League Cup during this time.
Return to Ventforet Kofu
After his loan, Abe returned to Ventforet Kofu in 2005. He continued to play a key role, helping the team earn promotion to the J1 League. He played 18 league games in 2005 after returning.
