Personal Life and Endorsements
Kent Bazemore is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. When he played for the Warriors, he was known for his fun celebrations on the team's bench. These celebrations became popular online and were even included in the NBA 2K14 video game. Kent married Samantha Serpe in 2017, and they were divorced in 2024.
Helping Stephen Curry
In 2016, a story came out about how Bazemore helped Under Armour sign Stephen Curry. This happened in 2013 when Curry's shoe deal with Nike was ending. Bazemore was a new player trying to make the Warriors team. His agent contacted Under Armour and suggested they sign Bazemore. The agent also mentioned that Curry and Klay Thompson would soon need new shoe deals.
Under Armour signed Bazemore and gave him lots of free gear. Bazemore then shared this gear with many Warriors staff members. Once Bazemore made the team, he and Stephen Curry became friends. They both came from North Carolina and had a strong work ethic. Bazemore then convinced Curry to sign with Under Armour. This happened after Nike made some mistakes during their talks with Curry.
Because of Bazemore's help, Under Armour gave him a very good contract. This was a lot of money for a player of his level. The company also signed a deal with Old Dominion University. This deal was worth seven times more than what the school used to get from Nike. Bazemore's deal with Under Armour also helped him pay for a new basketball practice building at Old Dominion.
