Kentarō Haneda (羽田 健太郎, Haneda Kentarō, January 12, 1949 – June 2, 2007) was a super talented Japanese musician. He was a brilliant pianist, a creative composer, and an amazing arranger. He wrote music for many popular anime shows, movies, and even video games! People often called him by his nickname, Haneken.

Kentarō Haneda was born in Tokyo, Japan. He studied music at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. After he finished his studies, he even taught music as a professor. He worked at the Tokyo College of Music.

Haneda was especially famous for the music he created. He composed for the Wizardry video game series. This game was very popular on consoles like the NES and SNES. He also wrote music for the The Super Dimension Fortress Macross series. Other well-known works include Barefoot Gen, Ys Symphony, and Symphony Sorcerian.

Kentarō Haneda passed away on June 2, 2007. He was 58 years old.
