About the Show
The show is hosted by a character called Kerwhizzitor (Jacob Scipio). He's the only real person you see on the screen. Three teams of animated characters play the game. Each team has a human child and a special animal that's part-living and part-machine.
The teams answer four rounds of questions. Each round features a different animated character. If a team answers correctly, they win a special pod mod for their racing vehicle. There's also a chance to win a mystery mod in one round. These mods are unusual accessories that might help them win the race.
The questions are all multiple-choice. The answers are always red, green, yellow, or blue. These are the same colors as the buttons on most TV remote controls! After all the questions, the teams' racing pods are put together. Their special mods are added to the pods.
Then, the pods are lifted into a computer-animated race world. Each race world has a different theme, like a desert or a jungle. The questions often give clues about the race world's theme. The races have two laps, and unexpected things can happen. This makes every race exciting and hard to guess who will win!
Meet the Characters
The Host
- Kerwhizzitor (Jacob Scipio) is the quiz master. He asks all the questions and tries to keep everyone in order. He also makes funny jokes and rhymes. During the races, he describes all the action.
The Contestants
There are three main teams, each with a human and an animal partner.
Team Ninki
- Ninki (voiced by Kriselle Basilio) is a girl with dark skin and hair in bunches. She loves to sing, even if her singing is sometimes called "terrible" by others!
- Pip is Ninki's partner. He's a green, furry dog who looks a bit like a Scottish terrier. Pip has a metal neck that can stretch out. He can't speak words, but he can make barks and growls that sound like words. Sometimes Ninki doesn't hear him when he gets a question wrong, which makes him frustrated!
- Team colour: Yellow.
- Team logo: A yellow star.
Team Twist
- Twist (voiced by Alex Velleman) is a blond boy who is very confident, sometimes a bit too confident! He really cares about looking stylish.
- Snout (voiced by Jermaine Woods) is Twist's partner. He's an orange, furry creature with two legs and a plastic trunk. He looks like a small woolly mammoth. Snout loves sprouts! In one episode, it's revealed that he comes from a planet called "Planet Snout." He also has two nephews named Rocko and Ricko.
- Team colour: Blue.
- Team logo: A blue spiral.
Team Kit
- Kit (voiced by Telka Donyai) is a fair-skinned girl with blue hair. She is very smart and good at solving problems. She's just as confident as Twist, which sometimes leads to a friendly rivalry between them.
- Kaboodle (voiced by Yasmin Garrad) is Kit's partner. She's a furry ball with a face, two pointy ears, and a springy leg. Kaboodle seems younger than the other racers and often needs Kit's help. If she bounces for a long time, she can create electricity!
- Team colour: Pink.
- Team logo: A pink lightning bolt.
Question Hosts
These characters appear in the animated parts of the show where questions are asked. They don't speak, as Kerwhizzitor reads all the questions. Sometimes, bigger versions of these characters also appear in the race world.
- Natterjack the toad asks two questions in each episode. These questions are usually about recognizing pictures. For example, you might need to find a picture that matches one Natterjack has drawn.
- Burping Herbert the burpasaur asks one question about remembering what you saw. Herbert might eat several objects, and you have to remember which one he ate.
- King Pong the skunk hosts a game called "Hunt the Skunk." He hides behind different objects very quickly. The teams have to guess his last hiding spot to win the Mystery Mod. You know King Pong is coming because of a smelly green cloud! Sometimes his family members appear, like Long Pong Silver (who smells even worse!) or Queen Pong and Princess Pong (who smell very nice and make pink clouds).
- Kat Kool the cat hosts "Kat Kool's Sound Round." This question tests your memory of sounds. Kat Kool or his band might play a tune, and you have to pick the matching tune from a few choices.
Episodes
Kerwhizz had 2 series and a total of 41 episodes. Each episode featured a new race world and different challenges for the teams.
