Kevin Holness, born on September 25, 1971, is a former Canadian soccer player. He played as a midfielder and represented Canada in international matches.

Playing for Clubs

Kevin Holness spent his entire outdoor soccer career playing in Canada. He played for several teams, including the Winnipeg Fury, Toronto Blizzard, Montreal Impact, Toronto Lynx, Vancouver 86ers, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Besides outdoor soccer, Holness also played indoor soccer. This is a faster version of the game played in an arena. He played for the Toronto Shooting Stars, Wichita Wings, and most notably for the Edmonton Drillers. These teams were part of the NPSL.

Playing for Canada

Kevin Holness also played for Canada's national soccer teams. He was part of the Canadian team at the 1987 FIFA U-16 World Championship. This big tournament for players under 16 years old was held in Canada.

He played in all three of Canada's games during that championship. He was on a team with other future soccer stars like Paul Peschisolido and Carl Fletcher.

Later, he joined the senior Canadian national team. His first game was in May 1995 against Northern Ireland. He played a total of 9 games for Canada and scored 2 goals. Both of his goals were scored against Honduras during the 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup. His last international game was a friendly match against Costa Rica in June 1996.

Coaching Career

After his playing career, Kevin Holness became a coach. He was the first coach for the Saskatoon Accelerators team. This team played in the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League. He coached them for a short time before leaving in 2009.

Currently, Kevin Holness works as the technical director for FC Regina. This role means he helps guide the soccer programs and player development for the club in Regina, Saskatchewan.
