Kevin Liles is a famous American music executive. He helps artists make and share their music. He was born on February 27, 1968. Kevin is a co-founder and CEO of a music company called 300 Entertainment. In 2020, Billboard Magazine honored him. They named him R&B/Hip-Hop Executive of the Year. This was for his work helping artists like Megan Thee Stallion. It was also for his efforts in activism.
Early Life and School
Kevin Liles grew up near Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. He went to Woodlawn High School and graduated from there. His mother, Alberta Fennoy, was an accountant. His stepfather, Jerome Fennoy, worked on the railway. Kevin lived with them and his three brothers and sisters.
After high school, Kevin went to Morgan State University. He studied engineering there. He even had a special scholarship from NASA for electrical engineering. But Kevin decided to leave college early. He wanted to follow his dream of working in music.
Music Career
Kevin Liles started his music journey as a DJ. He was part of a group called Numarx in Baltimore. In 1986, his group helped write a song called "Girl You Know It's True." Numarx recorded it first. Later, it became a huge hit for another music group, Milli Vanilli.
Kevin then became a very important person at Def Jam Recordings. He was the president of this big music label. He also worked as an executive vice president for The Island Def Jam Music Group. He held these jobs from 1999 to 2004.
After that, he became an executive vice president at Warner Music Group. He worked with his friend Lyor Cohen there. In 2009, Kevin decided to leave Warner Music Group. He wanted to start his own businesses.
In 2009, Kevin started his own company called KWL Enterprises in New York City. Then, in 2012, he helped create a new music company. It was called 300 Entertainment. He started it with Lyor Cohen, Roger Gold, and Todd Moscowitz. On September 17, 2024, Kevin announced he would step down as CEO of 300 Entertainment.
Helping Others
Kevin Liles cares a lot about helping people. He has done many good things for charity. He was a co-chair for the New Yorkers For Children Gala. This event helps children in need. He also created a special foundation. It is called the Kevin Liles for a Better Baltimore Foundation. He continues to be very involved with it.

Kevin Liles is married to Erika Liles. They have two daughters together.
