Key West is a special place in Albemarle County, Virginia. It is known for two things. First, it is a modern neighborhood, which is a type of subdivision. Second, it is also a very old house. This house used to be the main landmark for the whole area.
The Key West house was once part of a large property. A rich and important family called the Minors owned it. Over time, much of their land was sold. This land then became the Key West neighborhood we know today. The original Key West house is still standing.
