About Khalia Braswell

Khalia Braswell was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She moved to Charlotte when she was in second grade. She studied computer science at North Carolina State University. Later, she earned another advanced degree in information technology. This was from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

In 2014, Khalia created INTech Camp for Girls. This program helps inspire young girls of color. It encourages them to explore jobs in technology. After finishing her studies, Khalia moved to California. There, she worked as an engineer at Apple, a famous technology company. In 2018, she decided to leave Apple. She moved back to Charlotte to work on INTech full-time. Later, she stepped down from leading INTech. She then started using her skills as a researcher at a company called Crunchbase.

Khalia Braswell has received some important awards. In 2018, she won the Walker’s Legacy Women of Power award. That same year, she was also named one of The Root's 100 Most Influential African Americans. This list recognizes important and inspiring people.
