Khalia Imani Lanier (born September 19, 1998) is an American professional volleyball player. She is known for playing as an outside hitter, which means she attacks from the front row. Khalia plays for the Italian team Imoco Volley and is also part of the United States women's national volleyball team. Before becoming a professional, she played college volleyball for the USC Trojans.

About Khalia Lanier
Khalia Lanier grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her father is Bob Lanier, a famous basketball player in the NBA Hall of Fame. Even though her dad was a basketball star, Khalia chose volleyball. She once said she wanted to play a different sport so she wouldn't be in her father's shadow.
She went to Xavier College Preparatory high school. Khalia started her international volleyball journey early. In 2011, she was part of the USAV Future Select Team. She later joined the U18 U.S. Team. With this team, she won a silver medal at the 2015 U18 World Championship.
In 2016, Khalia was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year for girls' volleyball. This award recognized her as the best high school volleyball player in the country.
Khalia's Volleyball Career
College Years
Khalia played college volleyball at the University of Southern California (USC) from 2016 to 2019. She studied human biology and finished her degree in 2020.
As a freshman in 2016, Khalia quickly made a name for herself. She received an honorable mention as an All-American player. She was also named to the AVCA All-Pacific South Region Team and the Pac-12 All-Conference and All-Freshman Team. She led her team in points and was one of the top players in the Pac-12 conference for kills. She played in every set for her team that year.
In 2017, Khalia was the captain of the U.S. U20 Team. They won a gold medal at the 2017 U-20 Pan American Cup. This was the first time the U20 team had won a medal at this tournament. In the final match against Argentina, she scored 16 points, leading all players.
During her sophomore year in 2017, she continued to be a team captain. She was named an AVCA first-team All-American. She also made the Pac-12 All-Conference Team. By the end of this season, she had scored over 1,000 career kills. She was only the second player in USC history to reach this milestone so quickly.
In 2018, as a junior, she again received AVCA All-America honorable mention honors. She was also on the Pac-12 All-Conference Team for the third year in a row.
By her senior year in 2019, Khalia was an AVCA second-team All-American. She was also a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes college athletes for their achievements in sports, academics, and community. She finished her college career with 2,025 career kills. This placed her sixth in the history of the Pac-12 conference. She was also one of only five players in the league's history to have both 2,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

After college, Khalia began her professional volleyball career. She has played for several teams:
