The Khattar are a community of people mainly found in the northern parts of Punjab, especially in the Rawalpindi and Attock districts of Pakistan. You can also find some Khattars in parts of KPK in Pakistan. A smaller number of Khattars also live in India.

The Khattars belong to the Arora group, which is part of the larger Khatri community. This family name, Khattar, was very common among the Arora Khatris, and their history can be traced back to Multan. After India became independent, many Arora Khatris settled in different states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat.

In Pakistan

  • Muhammad Hayat Khan: He was an important administrator during British rule in Punjab.
  • Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan: He was the first Prime Minister of Punjab when it was part of British India.
  • Shaukat Hayat Khan: A well-known politician from the Muslim League party.
  • Yawar Hayat Khan: A famous director and producer for Pakistan Television.
  • General (retired) Ahsan Azhar Hayat: He was a senior officer in the Pakistan Army and also served as an ambassador to Jordan.
  • Major (retired) Tahir Sadiq: He is a member of the National Assembly (MNA) and used to be the head of the Attock district.
  • Ghulam Sarwar Khan: He is a federal minister for petroleum and a senior leader in the PTI political party.

In India

  • Manohar Lal Khattar: He is the Chief Minister of Haryana, a state in India.
  • Ishaan Khattar: A popular actor in Bollywood movies.
