Khavaran (which is spelled Persian: خاوران in Persian) is a city located in Iran. It is the main city, or capital, of the Rahgan District. This district is part of Khafr County, which is found in the Fars Province of Iran.

How Many People Live Here?
The number of people living in Khavaran has changed over the years. In 2006, a big count of the population showed that about 5,137 people lived in the city. They lived in about 1,303 homes.
A few years later, in 2011, another count was done. This time, about 4,075 people were counted. They lived in 1,231 homes.
The most recent count in 2016 showed that Khavaran's population grew a little. About 4,332 people lived there in 1,533 homes.
Khavaran's Place on the Map
For a long time, Khavaran was part of a larger area called Jahrom County. But in 2019, some changes were made to the map of Iran.
The area around Khavaran became its own new county, called Khafr County. Khavaran was then chosen to be the main city of this new county.

Some people who have made a name for themselves come from Khavaran. One such person is Fakhraddin Hashemi. He is known as a Shia Cleric, which means he is a religious leader and scholar in the Shia branch of Islam.
